UPDATE 27TH JUNE 2009 Todays votes for and against the guitar workshop have shown that the voting majority is for and not against the workshop. So myself and the other organisers of the Nick Drake Gathering are looking into where and when we will hold the event and who will run it. We have a couple of people in mind but until they say yes or no we cannot confirm who exactly will be running the workshop. We have two possible venues in discussion and the times of the running of this event are likely to either be 10am till 12noon on the saturday or 11am till 1pm on the same day. If all goes to plan then-we should be having a guitar workshop this year! BECAUSE THE VOTING WAS VERY CLEARLY FOR THE WORKSHOP 54 VOTES FOR YES AND 8 FOR NO; I HAVE CLOSED THE VOTING POLL NOW. MANY MANY MANY THANKS FOR VOTING EVERYONE!

The Annual Nick Drake Gathering, held in Tanworth-in-Arden, Warwickshire is now headed for its seventh year celebrating the music and life of the very talented musician; Nick Drake. It is a great opportunity for musicians influenced by Nick, and fans of Nick to meet up and get to know each other whilst sharing their experiences, thoughts, music, good humour and the spirit of the event; which is non-profit, and funded by the fans for the fans by way of donations. Entry to concerts is completely free. Although donations towards the upkeep of the event are welcome or alternatively donations towards looking after the beautiful Church of St Mary Magdalene, Tanworth-in-Arden who kindly allow us to stage our main events there are much appreciated. Some people return year after year, and amongst them many new faces are appearing too.

The village of Tanworth-in-Arden remains quite untouched by the passage of time and is a very pleasant, peaceful place. Keeping this in mind we like to keep the event a fairly cosy affair, that the village can handle and also to maintain the sort of intimate atmosphere that both music and listener deserve.
