So forget this cruel world Where I belong I’ll just sit and wait And sing my song And if one day you should see me in the crowd Lend a hand and lift me To your place in the cloud

In Memory Of The Man and The Music

The Annual Nick Drake Gathering, held in Tanworth-in-Arden, Warwickshire will in 2010 be headed for its eighth year of celebrating the music and life of the very talented musician; Nick Drake. It is a great opportunity for musicians influenced by Nick, and fans of Nick to meet up and get to know each other whilst sharing their experiences, thoughts, music, good humour and the spirit of the event; which is non-profit, and funded by the fans for the fans by way of donations. Entry to concerts is completely free. Although donations towards the upkeep of the event are welcome or alternatively donations towards looking after the beautiful Church of St Mary Magdalene, Tanworth-in-Arden who kindly allow us to stage our main events there are much appreciated. Some people return year after year, and amongst them many new faces are appearing too.

The village of Tanworth-in-Arden remains quite untouched by the passage of time and is a very pleasant, peaceful place. Keeping this in mind we like to keep the event a fairly cosy affair, that the village can handle and also to maintain the sort of intimate atmosphere that both music and listener deserve.

Strange face With your eyes So pale and sincere Underneath you know well You have nothing to fear For the dreams that came To you when so young Told of a life Where spring is sprung
